You know what they say. “Cleanliness is next to godliness.” When it comes to having a great beard, keeping it clean is the foundation to making something amazing. 

A great beard soap needs a perfect balance of cleansing. Run-of-the-mill soaps can be stripping for the dry-prone hairs and sensitive skin that make up a beard. Some companies answer this need by making soap that is more lotion than anything else. This is not good because beards need genuine cleansing. Plenty of spittle and vittles can accumulate over the course of a day, and you need ingredients that will actually get rid of germs of debris.

That’s why we use products that help to take care of both needs. Activated charcoal has binding properties. It sticks to the dirt, oil, and other particles on the surface of the skin and strands of hair. When you wash the soap away from your beard, the bound particles wash away.

Stearic acid also cleans the skin by giving our soaps the ability to make a nice lather. This same acid retains moisture by helping the pores to close to a safe level. Pores that are left wide open by the ingredients in a soap allow moisture to evaporate away.

In addition to retaining moisture, Big Beard Soap also helps bring moisture to the skin with conditioning ingredients, like coconut oil, that contributes to healthy, nourished moisturized skin.
