Are You Getting the Most Out of Your Beard Oil?
Smoky Mountain Beards carefully crafts each bottle of beard oil by hand right here in America. The ingredients are all-natural, and it’s a blend of oils that give moisture and nourishment to the hair and skin without clogging pores or leaving residue.
Our oil is a safe product made of quality ingredients, so you can use it for more than just moisturizing your beard and skin. Since alternative uses of beard oil may require using a larger amount of oil, some guys prefer to stick to our The Simple Life unscented bottle.
Here are a few ideas for maximizing your beard oil:
1. Use it as a conditioner
Our beard oil seals in moisture and has vitamins and minerals that nourish hair. Treat your hair to the same royal treatment you’ve been giving your beard. After your usual hair washing regimen, dry your hair to the point of dampness. We recommend towel drying, but the process still works if you prefer a blow dryer.
Next work our beard oil from root to tip, making sure to massage your scalp. For a quick conditioner, you can rinse it out as soon as you’ve worked it in well. Using lukewarm to cool water will do a better job of leaving the benefits of the oil in your hair. Hot water will melt it right out.
If your hair is really in need of a revival, you can let the oil stay in for longer. Thirty minutes makes an excellent deep conditioning treatment. You could even leave the oil in overnight for more of a hair mask.
Be sure to adjust the timing to the needs of your hair and scalp. If your hair has a tendency to be very oily, leaving the oil in overnight may be a bad idea. However, for hair that has a hard time absorbing moisture, overnight oiling may do just the trick.
2. Use it as Pre-Shave Oil
Why buy two products when you’ve got one that can do both jobs? Pre-shave oil is applied right before shaving cream or whatever else you prefer to use for shaving. You just apply a thin layer of oil. This helps to condition the skin and lift up the follicles. Oil also acts as a lubricant for the razor or trimmers, allowing them to glide across the skin rather than dig in causing pesky cuts and scrapes.
Many men say that pre-shave oil helps them get an even closer shave because it helps to lift up the short stubble that could get left behind otherwise. We know how serious many of our customers are about cleaning up the lines of their beards, and beard oil can help.
3. Use it to moisturize hands
As workingmen, our hands can take a real beating sometimes. Whether it’s being exposed to rough weather, tough chemicals, or just callouses from repetitive movements, a man’s hands often need some extra TLC.
Our beard oil softens the skin and is easily absorbed by the skin cells. When you find your hands needing a little extra boost of moisture. Rub a thin layer of beard oil on clean hands after your usual hand moisturizer has already been applied and dried. If you put too much, you may need to use a towel to gently rub away excess oil, but the effect is very soothing.
These are just three of many uses that men have found for our beard oils. Do you use beard oil for some other need? Let us know!
